We have been involved in the hair replacement industry since 1987 in Merrillville, Indiana. Mane Image understands hair loss is an emotionally driven situation, therefore all of our style rooms are private. The only clients we service are clients experiencing some sort of hair loss. You will never run into a neighbor, relative, friend or co-worker in here unless they too suffer from hairloss. Mane Image has a front and rear entrance with parking facilities at each entrance.
We are conveniently located on a dead end street for privacy yet we are only 1 block from Broadway and RT 30.

All our staff are liscenced cosmetologists with extended training in hair loss and all its solutions. We are open 6 days a week with hours beginning at 8 AM and ending at 7PM.

All information supplied to Mane Image remains confidential. Emails, mailing addresses and phone numbers will only be used by Mane Image upon customers approval and only when customer needs to be contacted to notify of appointment or order status.

Retail Department

Our retail department features many different product lines to aid in not only cleansing and conditioning the hair (or hair replacement system), but also aiding in a stronger thicker growth for people with fine and thinning hair.

We feature: Nioxin, Redken, Goldwell, Biosilk, Aquage, Alterna, Kenra, Itly, Malibu 2000, Hempz, Brandywine, Ec Mode, Paul Mitchel, Jorgen, Tricomin, Mizani, Schwarzkopf, Osis, La Gem and Oshi.

We also feature “DermMatch”, which is utilized as a scalp camouflage. DermMatch makes thin hair appear thick and natural by being applied topically to the scalp, where it rests on the skins surface until it is shampooed out. Compared to other products that are either shaken or sprayed on the scalp, derm match is a superior product for its overall natural end result. It is not easily scratched off the scalp and since it is applied directly to the scalp there is no over spray on the surrounding hair to make it appear like there is "something" in the hair.

We carry all forms of product to support the person already wearing a hair replacement system, from adhesive strips to full scalp bond touch up adhesive as well as all of the necessary removal products.

WIGS

One misconception when it comes to wigs is that you can spot them a mile away. We have to disagree. Today, it is nearly impossible to tell the difference between a wig and natural hair. If you come to Mane Image and let one of our highly trained technicians help you pick the appropriate wig for you, no one will ever know.

No one just wakes up one day and says "well today is the day! I am going to go buy a wig". We have been working in this industry for 20 years and we have had the pleasure of helping many clients. Some come to purchase a wig to help them deal with hair loss from chemotherapy and some come to purchase a wig to cover their thinning hair. In either case it is a very emotional situation. Mane Image's technicians understand the emotions involved with hairloss be it male or female and we want to help make life easier for you. If you give us the opportunity we can make the whole experience enjoyable for you.

We recommend wigs for the clients who are generally going through a short term hairloss like chemotherapy or the permanent hairloss client who is not handy with their hair and would simply prefer to cover what hair they have. All the other clients we refer to another solution for their hair loss.

First let us give you some information about wigs so you know all your choices. Wigs today are made of the finest materials and designs. The prices usually range from $80 to several hundred dollars depending on the quality of hair and length, the type of wig cap, and whether the wig is machine made or hand tied. There are literally hundreds of wig manufacturers, although Mane Image can order you any brand of wig, we choose to carry a hand full of manufacturers wigs that we would be proud to wear ourselves. Mane Image has hundreds of wigs in stock for you to try on, purchase, and take home today. However, if we do not have a particular color or style in stock we can order it for you and generally have it in a few days. We can overnight orders for the cost of overnight fees and petite size heads and Large sizes can be accommodated as well. Mane Images prices for wigs also include any customizing your wig may need, be it cutting, styling, shaping etc. We will also provide an extensive care guide for your wig and instructions on filing insurance if applicable. Mane image carries all the at home supplies you will need to care for your wig or you can simply visit us for cleaning and styling of your wig.

In the wig department at Mane Image we also carry many head coverings such as hats turbans, sleep caps and wraps. These items can be complimented with a bang or hair halo. We also carry specialty items such as gel bands. The client who has a sensitive scalp uses the gel band to lift the wig slightly off the scalp for comfort. The band allows air to flow more freely and to secure the wig and prevent shifting. Some clients use nets or cotton wig caps under their wigs to help keep the scalp perspiration free and in place as well as all of the necessary adhesive remove products and scalp preparation products.
